I have always said that God made Dandelions so that little boys and girls would have an endless supply of flowers for picking and santa clauses to blow around. When Joshua and Katie were young we would have an annual dandelion marathon. We would make dandelion laurels and have races around the yard.

Morning Surprise
While cleaning the upstairs bedroom today - hanging laundry in my "green drying room" because it was raining and ironing clothes - I glanced up to find much to my surprise a bird of prey - preying upon a baby bird. Now don't get all teary eyed. If it was a cardinal or thrush I would be upset also but baby starlings-- well... I always marvel at the tenacity of some birds. No matter how big the preyer is they will band together and attack. Oh that I would be so tenacious about things in my life. Was quite sure of the id. I know after a semester in Ornithology I should be able to do that. Suspect a coopers hawk.
and the walking continues
I so look forward to coming home from work because there waits my little walking buddy. Friday was no exception. Scooped him up, put some warmer clothes on and off we went. Once that stroller starts to move he gets mesmerized. Todays journey took us down Clark Mills Road to the school playground and then around the Fairlane Dr. development. I use trails.com to figure my mileage and then mywalks.com to log in the miles.

letterboxing holiday
I can't believe that I finally got a chance to get away with hubby and grand and forgot to take a camera AND we saw way too many things to photograph. Today is our 36th wedding anniversary so I took the day off deciding to go letterboxing. Finally headed out about 11 am for Cleveland. I've always been enchanted by the north shore and long for a cottage up there. I think it would be wonderful to look out your window every morning at Oneida Lake.

Walking can sure tire you out.
If you know me at all you know that for me to walk I have to have a purpose. I've gotten spoiled since Kate has been home and I don't take the bus thereby getting in my daily walking. SOOOO..... Tyler, my walking buddy, and I have devised a plan or a goal if you want. We are planning to walk on every street, road, circle (you got it) in the town of Whitestown over this spring, summer and fall ( I don't do winter ) So far we are doing ok. We have checked off Amber Crossing, Strawberry Fields, Forest Glen, Devereaux Estates, the Orchards and tonight Trails Crossing. So far, I like Devereaux the best - old trees, lots of birds and beautiful 50-60's style houses.
